Instructors - Ned and Ted Chan are two brothers who have dedicated their
lives to martial arts. Unlike most teachers who frown upon learning other
systems, the Chan brothers believe there is a whole world of martial arts
knowledge available. They have actively sought out some of the best
instructors from a wide cross section of martial arts. Their belief is that
no single system (or country) has all the answers; all systems have their
strengths and weaknesses. The key to their success, besides natural ability,
is their combined knowledge and an open-minded attitude.
Elements of each of the following systems are taught in the class -
|
- Jeet Kune Do
- Philippine System
- Wing Chun
|
|
The Chan brothers have also trained in -
|
- Hung Gar
- Chin Na
- Mantis
- Eagle Claw
|
- Choy Lay Fut
- Wu Shu
- Weapons
- and much more...
|
Where else can you learn all these under the same roof? Many new
students ask, "How is it possible to offer so many systems?" It is made
possible by having the combined knowledge of two masters who have put
their pride to the side and have continually learned anything that they
felt was of value. In modern times, many schools claim to teach a lot of
stuff, but end up only teaching watered down basics or filling their
students' heads with mystical nonsense. Please visit the school and see
the Chan brothers' skill and knowledge for yourself.
Actions speak louder than words.

What Will I Learn?
You will learn basic fighting techniques from all the ranges of combat.
Initially, emphasis is placed on Jeet Kune Do (JKD), Philippine System,
and Wing Chun. Self-defense techniques include basic joint locks, chokes,
and submissions. Drills with single and double stick(s) are
introduced, along with disarming techniques. A wide variety of punching
and two-man drills are also taught with emphasis on focus pads and drills
to build up the body's bone structure. Elements of JKD are introduced
from the beginning such as: boxing, grabbing, and kicking. Bruce Lee's
original 1964-67 Jun Fan is also taught.
It is important that the student has a strong understanding of all the
ranges of combat in order to be an effective martial artist. Developing
proper punching techniques and punching power are stressed initially.
Additional training includes kneeing, elbows,
takedowns, and ground fighting. Later on single and double sticky hands
(chi sau) are introduced to teach the student the importance of sensitivity.
Training also consists of empty hand sparring, stick sparring,
and knife sparring, using the appropriate safety gear.
Chan Brothers' Martial Arts School has no affiliate schools or instructors.
Instructors outside the Chan Brothers' School claiming to be their #1
student, closed-door student, etc... are lying. Unfortunately, these so
called "teachers" have tried to use the Chan brothers' names and generosity
for their own personal financial gain. These actions only cheapen the values
that real martial art instructors try so hard to instill in their students.
